the pelvic bowl and your inner mother
You are invited to an in-person workshop that will deepen a connection to the Inner Mother through awareness of and connection with the pelvic bowl. Engaging the Inner Mother addresses pelvic tension because she is the one who nourishes and protects us, she heals and grows us, and she is the one who cares for our Inner Child. The pelvic region encompasses the umbilicus where we were connected to our mothers, the internal and external reproductive organs, and is also the seat of our life force energy (the dantian inTraditional Chinese Medicine). The energy centers for our safety, our desire, and our will are also located in the abdominal region (Root, Sacral, and Solar Plexus chakras in Hinduism).
Emotionally and spiritually, the pelvic bowl holds so much of our tension; about having children or not having children, sexuality, safety, creativity and love. Physically, this tension may cause digestive dysfunction, rough menstrual cycles, pain, pelvic floor weakness, and limits to flexibility.
In this workshop we will utilize visualization, meditative exploration, writing, movement, self-massage and sound healing to connect to the pelvic bowl and the Inner Mother. This broad range of approaches will allow you to find tools that work for you to reach your inner landscapes. You will also receive supportive materials to continue your journey growing your Inner Mother and nourishing and protecting your Inner Child.
The number of attendees will be limited to 8 people. Address, directions, parking, and what to bring will be in the next email going out to participants. I do have animals in my house (two cats and a dog), so keep that in mind if you have strong allergies.
Date: Saturday June 3rd (the full moon!)
Time: 2-5pm
Location: Scotts Valley, CA
Cost is by donation: $25-$75
Please RSVP to jill.d.clifton@gmail.com if you’d like to attend. Money can be sent via PayPal at @JillDoneen or via Venmo @Jill-Clifton-6 (last 4 of my phone number is 6638).
P.S. If you know someone you think would enjoy this workshop please forward the email invitation, and if they want to come please have them RSVP also.

what will the gathering be like?
The event is intended to open us to our inner patterns of care, so please bring the following items with you in the spirit of tending to your comfort and support:
- Yoga mat/pillows/blankets for sitting on the floor.
- A scarf or wrap that goes around your belly a couple of times. We will use this for abdominal warming after our self-massage.
- Journal and pen for a little reflection during the workshop
- An altar item (optional). We will have an altar that will hold us throughout the workshop. If you would like to place a special item on the altar to charge it with the energy of the gathering you are welcome to bring it. We will have an opportunity in the circle to place the item on the altar if you have one.
THE INNER MOTHER IS SUPPORTED BY LANDSCAPE OF MOTHERS
Landscape of Mothers is the nature based framework we will use for exploring the realms of the Inner Mother and her attributes. There will be a brief introduction to Landscape of Mothers at the workshop and an offer of continued support through this lens, if desired.
Landscape of Mothers is not a gendered narrative, but a location of the parts of ourselves that are regulating, calming, protective, and nourishing. Collectively we might call this the Inner Mother. We learn our original Inner Mother from our childhood caregivers. They set the stage for what we expect life to be like, and what kind of help we are likely to get. Ideally, this part of us grows as we do, learning more about relationship, gathering tools and skills for relating. We see the effects of the Inner Mother on our ability to take care of ourselves and others, and in our close relationships. |
this is for you if you...
- ...have been dealing with pelvic bowl discomfort or issues and feel that it's more than just a physical malady
- ...have a history of sexual trauma and/or physical injury that would benefit from gentle attention
- ...are doing healing work around your desires, your agency, and/or your safety
- ...know that you hold tension in your belly or pelvis and you are interested in exploring it in a supported way
- ...want to move through the world from your core, engaging in what's true and important for you
- ...are curious about how knowing and supporting your Inner Mother can heal your Inner Child and improve your relationships
- ...feel drawn to building more personal relationships with Landscape of Mothers and/or the natural world
IF YOU'VE ALREADY SAID YES!Thank you for making time and space for this workshop. I am dedicated to bringing you a supportive, creative, gentle, and meaningful experience of your inner landscape and the inner mother who protects and nurtures you. She is the seat of safety, self-care, and self-regulation, and so she has everything to do with how you talk to, tend, and soothe yourself. This naturally affects how we are in relationship with others.
When we commit to events like these it’s not uncommon for related things to come up in our lives before we even arrive. So, I’d like to invite you to pay special attention to any successes or challenges to your inner dialogue, how you care for your inner world, or even to just taking the time for yourself. Also, be gentle with yourself, allowing for extra alone time and comfort items. |
I look forward to seeing you on June 3rd! Until then, take good care, move slowly when you can, and be an observer of your pelvic bowl as it is now. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
